Will Larter left this review about Reddish Ale
After missing my bus from Heaton Chapel station when the train was two minutes late, I was glad to find this one open as promised after walking 20 minutes or more to get here in increasingly dank weather. This is a pleasant micropub with three hand pumps on the bar, two of the beers being from RedWillow, one of them being their 8.4% "pastry barley wine" Pennyless, which has lactose in it, which I swerved for that reason and also have you seen the strength of that thing? The non-RedWillow beer was Lakes Brew Co's very good Lakes Pale 3.4%, which I know very well and this was NBSS 4 and just £4 for a pint. This pub is in the current Good Beer Guide and worth the effort of getting to one of the less accessible suburbs of Manchester, in my limited experience.
