A single room craft ale and gin bar with many similarities to a micro pub, but with no real ale. The name is that of the ancient Mesopotamian goddess of beer, which feels a bit out of place here. The room was a former retail premises, has a mix of wooden and tiled floor, exposed brick walls, and there is a strange brickwork structure sticking out of one wall, hiding the bar counter from the door. There are a couple of wooden barrels used as standing tables, plus tables with seats and a few small armchairs. There is a list of 10 craft beers behind the bar, all served from taps, and there is in addition a larger selection of canned beer. Also on tap are a single lager and a real cider. The landlord was friendly and keen to talk about his beers, of which he was very knowledgeable. The locals were also friendly enough, and there were one or two curious tourists in as well. It’s a good business which complements well the other boozers in town, but the lack of real ale makes it less appealing for me.
