E TA left this review about Little Walcot
A rather pretentious cafe bar, more cafe than bar, in a building which deserves better. The cafe is on a corner in the narrow older part of Frome, an was once a proper pub with various names. Externally, the bottom part of the frontage has green tiles, as presumably did the whole facade, but now the wall above the bottom course is modern brick and glass. Glass doors, hotel-style, now form an entrance, but a sign forbids entry through them, suggesting instead the side door just up the road. There is no proper bar as such, just an extension of the food servery (staff only) with taps dispensing Lost and Grounded Helles and Wanna Go To The Sun, Pravha, Aspall’s Cider, Lucky Saint and Guinness, all over-priced or the area. The majority of their drinks menu is taken up with cocktails and expensive spirits. Food is expensive and more fashionable restaurant than pub. The majority of customers when we visited were a women’s business group, which was a bit like a sober hen party without the class and charm. We weren’t at all welcomed, flt out of place and really didn’t enjoy the craft beers. This place might work in London, but it’s really not what Frome is about and I have no intention of coming back in its present guise, either for food or drink.
