Old Boots left this review about Pizza on the Square
Housed in the old town hall, a fine stone Georgian building, a plaque by the door memorialises Edmund Burke, a famous 18th century Tory politician who was MP for Malton in the 1780s and 90s. He railed against the French Revolution and Thomas Paine’s “The Rights of Man”. The main cafe bar is on the ground floor with big arched windows giving views onto the Market Place. As a cafe bar the furnishings are square tables and chairs with a couple of higher tables and stools in front of the counter. Four hand pumps are central on the counter with three from Ossett and one from Brass Castle round the corner. Keg choice is largely catered for by Salt (Ossett in trendy new trousers), also with a selection of better European beers. As the name suggests the food is mostly pizzas, but casual drinking is allowed. There is a seating area or something on the upstairs floor but I didn’t explore. Earlier customers were yummy mummy types with a few older blokes sauntering in later. Malton does have a high number of currently closed pubs I’m sad to relate, so they could be at a loss.
