Komakino . left this review about Oxford Brewery Tap Room
The former Shotover Brewery changed hands a few years ago, becoming Oxford Brewery and the brewery has now expanded to include a taproom in one of the barns on the farm site (on the left-hand side of the courtyard) which abuts onto the historic Shotover Hill and Country Park. Done up in a homely fashion with flagstone floor, the decor actually puts some pubs to shame and they peddle three of their ales: mainstays Prospect and Scholar, as well as IPA Matilda's Tears for under £4. There are also seven keg taps; five of which were in operation on my visit and a swift pint of the Matilda was followed by a swifter half of a "guest" keg beer in Loose Cannon Robust British Porter. There are shelves with canned and bottled product as well as t-shirts and glasses, as well as a canned cider named after the city's greatest fictional detective, Inspector Morse. The owners are a nice duo, and although first in after their 4pm opening, I was soon joined by two locals who engaged in some friendly banter with them. It's a bit of a wild tick, potentially walkable from the nearby MINI works and serves a decent double-up with the Queen's Head.
