E TA left this review about White Horse View
Previously The View, and before that White Horse Country Park, this modern cafe bar is basically the club house and restaurant for the White Horse Leisure Centre with its golf course and bowls club. The bar feels barn-like with its high ceiling, and ot has a timber floor with tiles around the counter. There are large TV screens at either end, and these were showing live sports when we visited. There are two dartboards in one corner and a selection of gaming machines, plus an industrial-scale coffee machine behind the counter. There is a sizeable function room and a paved outside seating are which provides views across the golf course to the eponymous white horse on the hill beyond. The bar has no cask ale or real cider, just a keg range of Peroni, Madri, Thatcher’s Gold and Haze, three Thatcher’s fruit monstrosities, Coors, Guinness and Guinness. The staff were friendly, but service was slow and they don’t always open on time. It’s a reasonable bolt-hole away from the town centre, they give discount to Blue Light Card holders, and it’s fine for a basic non-alcoholic lunch, but it’s not somewhere I’d come for an evening.
