Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Microbus

Railway arch micro-pub with a VW camper van theme, with limited seating indoors but it also has three small tables out on the pavement. Six handpumps featuring Twice Brewed's Sycamore Gap Tribute and other cask ales from Almasty, Two by Two, Anarchy, Brass Castle and Brew York - several intentionally hazy, but several of us were not sure about a couple of others (and mine was in poor condition). Popular with the local Camra branch, so perhaps we caught it on a bad day?

Micropub in a railway arch with half a dozen cask beers on. There were several hazy beers which I swerved because I'm such a dinosaur, and went for the Almasty Best Bitter. Which turned out to be hazy too, though I assume not by the brewer's intention. It was sold at £1.50 for a half when it was listed as £4/pint, but I wasn't informed that it was reduced as being end of barrel. On complaining, I was told it wasn't end of barrel, it was fresh on. I was offered a replacement and that was also hazy and in poor condition (Twice Brewed Sycamore Gap Tribute IPA). I scored the replacement at NBSS 2 and moved on. I'm not sure what is going on here - do they sell so many hazy beers that any old murk just goes on no matter what condition it's in? I was very disappointed to find this in a GBG pub.

Old Boots left this review about Microbus

GBG listed railway arch micro pub with a clutch of CAMRA awards, the theme is Volkswagen with bits of car and camper van as part of the decor. What isn’t VW is surfing related, and there’s a bus stop in the middle of the room. The counter is the front of a camper and has six pulls of mostly local beers, the 10 keg taps are mounted to the side, all are displayed above on a big screen. The furnishings are are mix of high and low tables and stools/chairs mostly of the hard persuasion. A fridge of cans and bottles sits on top of another camper front and there’s a “retro games” machine against a side wall. Even the unisex toilet is a bit of a VW shrine. The staff are among the most knowledgeable and enthusiastic I’ve come across in a long time.

Blue Scrumpy left this review about Microbus

With time for just one more pub south of the Tyne, I headed to Microbus which is another new entrant to the 2024 Good Beer Guide.

Microbus is a micropub set in the railway arches with many artefacts inside related to VW Beetle Vans as well as buses in general. There is even a screen inside listing the latest bus times from the stop outsde.

The place was busy on my Thursday evening visit. I opted for what appears to be the house beer from Yard of Ale. It is called Harriet. There were pictures elsewhere of Harriet, which I assume is/was the pub dog. Other cask ales on were Northern Alchemy Learn To Swim, VOG (South) Islands In The Stream, Well Drawn Bitter, Bellfield Lucky Spence IPA & Two By Two Porter.

Real ciders were Thatcher's Stan's Cheddar Valley, Ascension Dance Commander, Pilot & Unless You Think & Dudda's Tun Disco. Craft beers were Twice Brewed Bubblegum Sour, Tartarus Herne The Hunter, Fierce Late Shift, Anarchy Heavy Duty, Cloudwater Fresh, Polly's Kyra, Full Circle Looper, Maule Wonder, Campervan Leith Juice & Cameron's Overkill. All drink options are listed on a screen to the right-hand side of the bar.

There is also a selection of bottle and canned beers in a fridge to the right-hand side, which sits next to a convenient mobile phone charging point. Whilst many micropubs seem to frown on mobile phones, I found it amusing that this one was promoting their use!

With a good selection of drinks and plenty of memorabilia and other items to admire around the walls and ceilings and even extending to the unisex toilet, I quite enjoyed my visit here.

Real Ale Ray left this review about Microbus

This micropub is themed on the owners luv for camper vans and there is a photo of his own VW Camper adorning one of the walls. The owner was very friendly and chatty on our visit and made us most welcome. There were six handpumps on the bar on our visit, Yard of Ale Hoptopus, Bingley Brewery GoldyLocks, Jarrylo Pale Ale, Durham 28 Years Later, Marble Brewery Bitter and Salt Brewery Hessian. There was also a comprehensive choice of craft beers and lagers across ten taps behind the bar. The layout in here was excellent and the seating arrangements very comfortable.
