Blue Scrumpy left this review about Riley's

Riley's Taproom & Wine Bar is situated on a pedestrianised street near to the market. The interior feels quite modern. It is dark inside with beige and brown painted walls and exposed ducting. The bar is to the rear left but whilst beers should have been listed on a TV screen, somebody had taken the batteries out of the remote. So, there was little way of telling what was on. However by the time we departed, somebody had either found or purchased some batteries. Outdoor seating is available to the front if it is too dark inside.

Cask options here were Darklands Freedom Fields & Vocation Pride & Joy. The keg range was more extensive with Theakston Barista Stout, Vocation Heart & Soul, Rivington Never Known Fog Like It & Another Night In A Row, Buxton Double Back, Yonder Maple, Banana & Blueberry Pancakes, Holy Goat Sabra Cadabra Vol. 2 & Squawk Mallard.

My Freedom Fields wasn't up to much but we did find this place to be quite friendly, especially the other customers. It was quite busy on our Saturday lunchtime visit.

Old Boots left this review about Riley's

A long, thin, wine and craft beer place, 3 pulls and 10 taps with an interesting range of smaller breweries products, the drinks are listed Untapped style on big screens. Furnished mostly with high tables plus a few low ones down the right hand side, it has the standard sort of industrial ceiling and is decorated with mirrors and the odd picture. Too middle aged and middle class for my tastes but it is girly friendly.

a rather classy and high quality bar, a kind of labour of love thing for the owners I think. All Farrow and Ball and ultra middle class for Chorley, lots of talk of wine tasting and empanadas. That said, the beer is of the highest order and not unreasonable prices. It was a Top Rope takeover when I was in so went for their custard imperial stout on keg. Friendly staff. I somehow quite liked it despite the clientele and my many reservations.

This is a new taproom and wine bar thingy. A smallish box with limited decor. Several craft taps along the back wall but 2 handpulls at the side of the bar. It's ok without being spectacular. Probably worth another visit but much better places dotted around.
