E TA left this review about Club 102

A former shop premises fronting the High Street, this sports bar was previously known as Pine Pony, and before that, Bruv’s Bar. It consists of two rooms conjoined, the divide still informally created by a remaining pillar. There is also a paved yard at the rear, though this looks and smells more like an ashtray than a garden. The bar counter is at one side of the rear room. There is a pool table lit, bizarrely, by a glitter ball, there are multiple TV screens, which were showing live football when we visited, and there are various gaming machines dotted around. Also evident were various bits of audio equipment, a projector and a large screen. There is a dartboard, though this looked like it hadn’t been used for a while. The flooring is cheap laminate that has seen much better days. There is no cask ale on – when we asked the landlady, she pointed at the Sharp’s Atlantic keg tap and said it was that for now, though she was considering getting John Smith’s in as people had asked for ‘bitter’ Also on tap were Guinness, Carling, Staropramen, Thatcher’s Gold and Haze plus a batch of Thatcher’s fruit ciders. Given the availability of other pubs nearby I see no reason to return.
