A truly awful, horrible experience. It’s tucked down a small, drab pedestrian cul-de-sac in the Town centre, with an outside area entered through iron gates. Picking one’s way over the carpet of fag ends and broken beer bottles, there are some wooden tables and chairs. On these we found the bouncers and the extremely creepy foreign individual who, it seems was the landlord. He badgered us to enter the otherwise empty bar, insisting that there was cask ale available. There wasn’t. No beer worth mentioning, some taps dispensing nasty lager, Guinness and Strongbow cider. An equally creepy barmaid appeared and started pouring, so we made our excuses and left as quickly as we could. This is the worst bar I’ve seen for a long time.
