In a former haberdashers, the interior is noteworthy with a street light inside the shop window,a great parquet floor,a long series of cupboards on the left side housing quirky displays,a clothes mangle further back in front of high tables towards the rear and some good wood dividers with etched glass and a pleasing sliding door to the cooling room stillage. The seating in the shop windows is quirky with rotating office chairs, some small pews and a banquette. The bar is particularly low and there is a beer menu on the wall by the bar.
On my visit that meant Three Brothers Trilogy Blonde and Mosaic Pale (NBSS 3.5),Acorn Barnsley Bitter ,Exeter County Best and Bradfield Farmers Stout. There were two continental lagers, indie beers Salt Alpacalypse and Beartown Inception and some ciders.
It's in the 2025 GBG but the owner insisits in bringing in West Country ale ,which is a challenge from a region not known for it's real ale excellence whereas the immediate area is blessed .The focus on low ABV real ales felt like a mistake and although this is a reasonable place for a pint,it cannot compete with the Sawley Junction micropub on ale nor indie beer.

This micropub was a former drapers store and still retains a lot of the original fixtures and fittings. The bar counter was originally used for measuring cloth. Along the left hand side wall hosts timber shelving full of bric a brac, plus a stunning herringbone floor in the front bar area. Five ales on stillage served from a side cold room. The line up was Listers Summertime, Exmoor Buzz, Milestone North Rock, Leatherbritches Bespoke and Dancing Duck Dark Drake.
