Originally The Star, this large 1960s estate pub is currently run by Marstons. The is no garden as such, just a paved terrace next to the road, containing wooden furniture and piles of fag butts. Inside, there is a singe large bar, somewhat battered, with two pool tables, large TV screens and an area which can be screened off for functions. The clientele were far from welcoming, probably because they didn't want outside influences to enter their apparently limited gene pool. Although our visit was in the afternoon,, there were several people of several sexes who were definitely under the influence of some form of alcohol - clearly not real ale as there wasn't any on offer. There were a couple of bottled beers at hugely inflated prices, and the usual row of keg lagers, Guinness etc. We didn't feel at all comfortable here, and I have no intention of ever returning.
