As mentioned below, this imposing pub - much taller than the other buildings on Bedford Road has a Public Bar to the left with a larger Lounge bar to the right which opens out at the back to the right with some tables semi-set for dining. Three small, standard circular tables with chairs and clutch of locals hogging the bar. Three ales on - Sharp's Doom Bar, Purity Pure UBU and Hook Norton Hooky. The latter was a nice drop, but £4.30 for a pint seemed excessive. Slight comedy moment when Beastie Boys' "The New Style" randomly popped up on the jukebox and was swiftly deleted. There are some plus points - the two bar layout (same beers in each - I asked) the food offerings, a pleasant decor and decent Monday evening turnout, but it seems a little tired in places (check out the car park). But as it's all Marston Moretaine has to offer, it could be a lot worse.

Splendid traditional interior. Multiple real ales. Cosy public bar to the left and an additional larger bar to the right where proper pub food is available.
