Strongers . left this review about Lime Street Central
Lime Street Central has standard tables and chairs up the left and high tables around the serving counter that runs up the right. Premium and craft keg were available alongside three hand pumps that were drawing Greene King’s Scrum Down and Old Speckled Hen alongside Wolfpack’s Alpha Stout. Televisions throughout were airing Premier League football via TNT Sports, nobody was watching it. I thought this was an odd place that is trying to pull off upmarket, but has fallen a little short.

Now serves 3 real ales. Two were from Greene King and one from Mobberley on this revisit. And at £5.60 a pint it'll be my last visit for a good while.

A good sized venue this one, with a good sized bar area over in the right handside room, which was finished in a dark stained oak colour, along with the fixtures and fittings looked very smart. A large wall mounted TV was another plus for sport, along with a photobooth, just in case you need to update your passport. No cask ale !

Blue Scrumpy left this review about Lime Street Central
New Greene King pub on the newly-redeveloped Lime Street. In fact, redevelopment is still ongoing and the area is quite a mess.
Despite it being derby day and this place being so close to Lime Street station, I was surprised as to how quiet it was. Real ales are not sold here. But there is a long bar, with plenty of keg beers. Craft beers included Greene King Ice Breaker, Beavertown Neck Oil, Tiny Rebel Clwb Tropica & Vocation Heart and Soul. It was only after ordering a Clwb Tropica that I noticed a pumpclip for Lilley's Somerset Scrumpy Medium resting on the bar, as if it had been cast away!
I much preferred this area when it had the San San chinese takeaway and restaurant, with another handy kebab shop also nearby. Now it's a soulless place with what are supposed to be more upmarket shops, bars and eateries. At least the Crown survived. Seems like an enormous waste of taxpayers' money to me. Such is "progress".
The possibility of a real cider may tempt me in here again, especially given its convenient location. Otherwise, it's just another bland, modern city centre bar.

A very chic new build bar in the modern industrial style. It's very nicely done but as Al says below it's totally sterile. Hardly any atmosphere on a late Sunday afternoon, even though the rugby was being shown on a huge screen. The long bar is to your right as you enter, but sadly there's no real ale, which I find surprising, even if Greene King cask isn't to my taste. I ended up with a pint of Beavertown Neck Oil, served freezing cold and at a premium price. We sat in the window seats and watched a never ending stream of people trudging past in the pouring rain. Happy to have visited, but I can't see any reason to repeat the experience.

Large new Greene King pub. A massive brand new pub a couple of doors down from The Crown. Open plan with a large bar dispensing a fair few fizzpops. No real ale to be found unfortunately. All modern and sterile. Window seats offer a fantastic view of the seemingly never-to-be-finished roadworks that currently plague this part of town.
