Long thin pub with bar servery and toilets at far end. Bench seating. Micropub with 4 real ales and kegs/cans. The quality of the beer was top notch!

Welshpool's sole entry in the Good Beer Guide at present is a micropub. You can probably guess from its name what it used to be.
Inside, there is a narrow interior with bench seating either side of the room and with the bar at the far end. With most of the seating taken on my late afternoon visit, it was certainly one of the more popular venues in town. There is further seating upstairs, with a tented outdoor area too.
Beers are listed on a blackboard. The 3 cask ales were Stonehouse Station Bitter, Hobson's Twisted Spire & Salopian Oracel. Ciders were Lilley's Darkcider & Gwynt y Ddraig Happy Daze. Craft beers were Conwy Haze & Brew By Numbers 42| Clementine Double Dry-Hopped Pale Ale Simcoe & Galaxy. I chose the latter, which was decent. Although I would have preferred a more adventurous cask ale or cider.
No food is served. Although a sign invited customers to bring in their own food, for which they would supply plates and cutlery.
This was just about the best pub I found in Welshpool. It would be my go to place if I lived in the town, but as micropubs go, there are hundreds better across the UK.
