Don’t be misled as I was into thinking it’s just that little offy across the road from the station, it is actually the large impressive building next door as well, formerly the Conservative Club. Climbing the steps from the road past some impressive tiles the bar is a right turn into a big square room. One corner is raised, maybe once a different room. The counter is in the rear right, the front corners have shelves of wine one side and beers the other, the intervening space is filled with tall tables. The counter has a selection of interesting beers on a quad, two doubles and Chouffe on a solo. On the T’s are beers from Thornbridge and Flensburger. Limited decor, a few painted skateboards and old photo or artwork. Mrs Thatcher from Spitting Image looks down on the entrance to the ladies while it’s John Major over the gents, a couple of gargoyles watch over you while you pee in the gents.
