Blue Scrumpy left this review about The GPO
This bar is part of a rather large food court belonging to the new Metquarter retail building.
Mid afternoon on a Sunday, there were a few groups eating. But I couldn't see anybody drinking. Most tables were free.
We wandered up to the bar, where craft beers are served. The selection was Twisted Wheel I'm Sorry Did I Roll My Eyes Out Loud, Beatnikz Republic Seriously Mixed Up Sour, Black Storm Nicht Mein Bier, Black Lodge Hundred Dollar Volvo Pale, Beavertown Neck Oil & Gamma Ray & Camden Pale.
Whilst we ordered at the bar and paid there, we later got the feeling that ordering my app is preferred, with a couple of waitresses available to provide table service from the bar and from all food outlets. Either way, this is one of those places where beer is dispensed in 2/3 pints, as opposed to halves, which allows them to ratchet up the prices.
With the interesting beer selection (albeit all craft) and the wide variety of food stalls, I could anticipate a return visit here when requiring something to eat in Liverpool. Whilst not a destination bar, this place can certainly serve a purpose.

Brainy Pool left this review about The GPO
As described below, it’s effectively a food court in a shopping mall. Decent range of food across the various vendors but the bar is piss poor with extortionate prices for a generic range of keg schooners. No local beers in sight, generic surroundings, lots of kids and families carrying giant shopping bags.

Al Bundy left this review about GPO Food Hall And Bar
Situated in the Metquarter shopping complex this is a new fangled 'street food' and bar place. Open plan with a large canteen area where the bar is to the right and a selection of food stalls to the left. 16 taps along the bar wall with a selection of keg beers at pocket emptying prices. All beer served in schooners. This is the downside of pub ticking as you have to go into these kind of places. Nothing of interest to be found here.
