Will Larter left this review about The Corner Tap
I discovered this place when researching a football match on the Saturday after Boxing Day. It's a micro pub on a corner - who'd have thought it? - with the bar counter up a couple of steps in a back room. The front room has a darts board, with the oche just inside the front door. The bar has three hand pumps, with two stands of five keg taps, one each side. These were serving national brands including Guinness, three ciders and some lagers. The cask beers were limited to Oakham Citra and two stouts from Ossett, a chocolate one with maple syrup, and a seasonal one with spice. I went for the Citra, which was pretty good (NBSS 3.5, £3.80/pint). Seating in the front includes a leather sofa, and in the back some high chairs around tables made from Castrol oil drums. I might consider a return visit once the Christmas beers have all been drunk.
