Located on a one-time farm which has been turned into commercial buildings including the brewery, the tap room is a whitewashed room with iron pillars and rustic woodwork. The little bar at the side has a cold stillage alongside for the beers, which are sold in 3.5 pint jars as well as pints etc. The latter emerge through taps and pumps on the wall rather than on the bar. A tented structure at the front acts as an overflow, as does the hop barn next door when not in use for hops. There are more tables outside at the back and the field behind also acts as a beer garden, with views over the hop garden. Sadly we timed our visit for a hot summer's day when they were 3 staff down so the queue was horrendous, with most taking an age ordering food, Pimm's etc as well as staff disappearing into the cool room to fill the jars. Overall the atmosphere is quite jolly, with lots of families, but the queueing can obviously be a turn off on busy days. Beers (and cider) exclusively their own, so not a huge choice of brews although condition was great. The brewery and shop is across the yard.
