I received a friendly welcome to this nicely done shop conversion. The floorboards look original but I'm pretty sure the bar counter has been fashioned from scaffolding boards, roughly finished. The two hand pumps are below and behind the raised front of the counter, but I could just see a White Rat pump clip, which raised my spirits after getting a rare soaking walking out from Keighley. The beer was very good (NBSS 3.5, £4.50/pint), but I just had a half as I wanted to check into the YHA just down the road and get into some dry clothes, but I promised to come back for a pint if it was a fine evening, which it was. (Sunday closing is 7pm, and the bar is not open Monday and Tuesday, the two days of my stay.) In the time I was in the pub I never saw anyone else drink the cask beer - it was all Cruzcampo, wine or gin. Small groups of villagers started gathering between 6 and 6:15; perhaps they can only afford one drink each?

Newly opened high-end drinks shop and bar. Three craft beers available on keg, plus two ales available on hand-pull.
