Strongers . left this review about The Escapist
The Escapist is a small shop converted laminate floored bar with a bench across the front windows that faces tables and chairs that are overlooked by a television that was airing Six Nations rugby to the very busy bar on a recent Saturday afternoon. I stood at a high table under the television where I noted seven craft fonts on the green tiled back bar, four of these were Escapist’s own brews. There’s no food but ordering from Ghost at the Feast is encouraged at the weekend, in fact a couple of blokes had some pizza delivered during my visit. The service was very polite and there was a good rugby atmosphere, although I expect that it got a bit too busy in here later in the afternoon when England were due to kick off in the second match of the day.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Escapist
Micro-pub and brewery tap, set in a narrow pedestrianised street just north of the city centre. Solid, canteen-style furniture and a somewhat eclectic mix of decorative features. I found six of the seven keg taps in use, offering a couple of their own craft beers - Bad Shirt Fridays pale and Laws of the Game stout (£6.00) - and guest beers in a variety of styles. However, they do sometimes offer cask beers too, including at the coming weekend when the Patchwork Armchair best bitter and Knight's Mild settle on their small stillage.
