Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Green Man

As the previous reviewer states, the Green Man is part of a chain of Liverpool pubs. I believe I am right in saying that this is the only one of their group not in the city centre.

The distressed interior is reminiscent of their Monro pub in the centre. There are bare boards and exposed brickwork. Plenty of stuffed animal heads can be found on the walls. Implements hanging from the ceiling include lanterns, various jugs and tankards, a violin and a couple of pheasants. Steps from the front room lead up to toilets, whilst there are a couple of further rooms to the rear and also a small outdoor courtyard. However most customers preferred outdoor seating to the front of the pub for a prime Lark Lane people watching spot. Nevertheless, there were a handful of punters inside with atmosphere created by some music.

Five handpulls in the front bar had Theakston Quencher, Neptune Ezili, Black Lodge Baltic Best, Brimstage Trapper's Hat & Ossett White Rat. There were a couple of unclipped handpulls on the bar in one of the rear rooms. The cider was Somersby and Brooklyn Stonewall IPA was also on keg.

Not quite as good as their locations in the city centre. However, whilst I haven't been drinking along Lark Lane for several years, I'd imagine it's the best option for decent beer on this street.

Now called The Green Man. It is owned by the same lot who have The Vines, Red Lion and Queen Of Hope Street in the city centre. 5 handpulls for real ale now available. Arguably your best bet for real ale in Lark Lane but it's not an area I particularly like (or can afford to be honest).

Brand new pub specialising in vegan and GF free meals. Real ales available plus fizzpop and cocktails. Food lead with an upstairs part to go with the L-shaped ground floor. 2 handpulls on the with beers from Black Lodge and Chapter. Fine if you want food I guess. Several fizzpops available. And like most places on Lark Ln its eye poppingly expensive.
