The ample seating outside McClarens was very popular on a recent sunny weekday afternoon, but the pub itself was very quiet with only two customers. It’s table service here so the staff were in and out taking orders and collecting premium keg from the bar. Food is also available, in fact I think in the evening this place would resemble a restaurant rather than a bar. The bacon cheeseburger is £15. At the front of the pub is a large carpet that has seen better days. On it are tables with a mix of leather sofas and old theatre chairs. The bar runs up the centre of the and there is seating up the left and at the rear. The staff were very friendly, but this isn’t somewhere I’ll be returning.
