Central Park is one of the Brewers Fayre pubs that avoided the chop during the Whitbread streamlining process. It’s way too far from town to warrant a visit if visiting Rugby, but it’s a handy stop off for some food and a leak if trying to avoid the service stations on the M6. It’s also attached to a Premier Inn so acts as the hotel’s bar and restaurant. There’s a central L-shaped serving counter with a bar seating area to the right where there’s a pool table and two televisions that were airing muted BBC afternoon snooker while some background music played. TNT Sports is advertised for live football. I had a burger that was fairly priced, but the guy behind the counter that served wasn’t the most cheerful chap. Premium keg was available and the two hand pumps were badged with Doom Bar. I thought this place just about trumped the services.
