Pub in the centre of Bampton village which opens during the day and had a group of locals stood at the bar throughout my visit. They were happy to take the pee out of the landlord's son, who was present and seemed to be a bit of a rebellious character.
Despite being the oldest pub in the village, the interior feels fairly modern. There is a kitchen at one end of the room which serves food in the evenings.
3 real ales were Proper Job, London Pride & Landlord. They also had a real cider - Sandford Orchards Devon Red, which was a pleasant surprise.
