Komakino . left this review about Wild Kite Taproom & Bottleshop
Opened in June 2019, this craft ale bar is a shop conversion opposite Great Missenden train station which offers two real ales and seven craft beers and a cider over its ten wall-mounted taps (Oakham JHB was the sole real ale on my visit) with a mixture of local (Fisher's, Mad Squirrel, Malt, Wild Weather) and further afield (Duration, Further Afield). Raised bench tables and stools to the left on entry, with smaller cousins to the right and more raised against the windows. L-shaped bar counter with taps on the butchers-tiled wall behind. Fridge to the left of the bar contained cans and bottles to be drunk onsite or taken away (25% discount on takeaway). Wines, gins and rums also available to non-beer drinkers. Limited food menu available (pies, meat platters) and they were advertising the Six Nations, so a bit of everything going on here. Some hops hung from a lowered ceiling division and a couple of boards on the left wall had craft beer labels affixed to them. This kind of thing hasn't really caught on in these parts yet, but I admire their enthusiasm and they seem to be ticking over so far. Check their opening hours before planning a visit, but if you do, it's either a decent enough start or end to a Missenden crawl.
