Bit of an oddly sterile refit and not that busy. A half of the Kiddy Stout was good (NBSS 3.5) but we didn’t feel inclined to linger, though we had been spoilt for top quality boozers that day and hopefully this new place is just finding its feet and will bed in a bit.

December 2023 (as Dog House)
Opposite the bus station/metro terminus, the temporary-looking sign outside says micropub but it’s much bigger than your average (part of the former Vauxhall, I read). Interior comprises of greys and blues with chequerboard flooring – it’s quite busy. 2x Woodcote cask and a Lilley’s cider. My Oatmeal Stout was freezing but in good nick (NBSS 3.5) as was the XPA (3) served-up by a friendly barmaid. A downside was the cold temperature inside – we kept our coats on. Serves a useful purpose. Rated 6.5

Past a few boisterous lads sat outside Weavers the large front doors open into a rectangular space with padded bench seating around the walls. To the right is a small bar with a short wooden counter that faces a couple of stools for the locals. There are six craft keg fonts on the back bar and six hand pumps on the counter. These were drawing Bewdley Brewery’s Worcestershire Way, Front Row Brewing’s ESB Egg Shaped Balls, Fownd Brewing’s Big Dipper Bitter, Gold and Frost Hammer as well Castle Rock’s Oatmeal Stout. The stout was good and the service polite so I’d certainly pop back in again if passing.

What better way to pass 20 minutes whilst waiting for a bus ? I popped in yesterday afternoon - possibly at the same time as the previous poster ? I also tried a Fownd beer - King Korvaks which was a 5.4 % porter , the only dark beer on but nevertheless served in good condition. I had a good chat with the barman who said they had only been open for a few weeks but he was happy how things had gone so far. Here's to the next visit.

Now open again as Weavers. 5 beers on including a couple from Fownd brewery. I went for Mermaids Tale which was spot on. Glad to see it back open!

Perfect spot for a pub, right on the bus / rail station. This was a regular of mine when it was the Vauxhall / Rock Station back in the day. Now a tidy little micro with a cider from Lilley's and 2 ales on. Bewdley Worcestershire Way and Woodcote Ruby mild. Both were fine. Happy to call again.

This former rock pub is now split into a takeaway on the left hand side and micropub on the right. This micro has a prime spot here, close to the bus exchange and the shuttle train stop to Stourbridge Junction.
The interior has a small front lounge with a large bay window and ample seating. The walls were timber clad in grey with blue painted walls. There was a small bar area off this with a roughly clad timber bar front, along with a black kitchen counter top. Three handpumps serving one cider and two beers Woodcote Brewery Spa and Woodcote Ruby Mild, from Bromsgrove. We went for the Woodcote Spa, Supreme Pale Ale, which was in good shape and reasonably priced. A few pics of pooches around the walls related to the pubs name. The pub also had an array of cobs on offer.

New micropub due to open soon. This new venture is housed in a small part of what was the Vauxhall pub.
