Strongers . left this review about Chequers Inn Hotel

It’s obvious from the outside that Chequers Inn Hotel is in a building of some age, the website claims an established date of c1452. Lounge furniture is found in the carpeted right-hand side of the pub where the hotel reception is also located before access to the accommodation and advertised conference room(s). In the centre of the pub is a stool lined L-shaped serving counter that faces laminate floored standing room and a couple of small tables to the front and a larger flagstone floored seating area where there’s an inglenook up the left. During a recent Saturday late afternoon visit there was a good atmosphere being generated by a handful of locals who were watching Six Nations on a television hung on the rear wall. Premium keg was available from the bar alongside Beavertown’s Neck Oil and Gamma Ray, and three hand pumps that were drawing Harveys’ Best and Old Ale as well as local Larkins Brewery’s Traditional. This place does feel a little like a hotel bar, but as somewhere to watch some rugby while waiting for the bus it was perfectly acceptable.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Chequers Inn Hotel

Very traditional old inn, with a lounge on either side of the smaller central bar. Christmas decorations were being installed outside when I arrived, plus some around the feature inglenook fireplace, and these seemed much needed as this place has a rather dispiriting feel. That said, it does thankfully now do cask beer again in the form of a couple of Harvey's beers from the three handpumps: Sussex and Armada.
