E TA left this review about The Globe Inn
A former coaching inn which also served the canal network, this unusual building is now a fantastic village pub, though ii has more the feel of a town house. The car park at the rear is entered through a narrow gateway with iron gates. You then walk through a large garden and an extended rear covered area with a playground and covered smoking area into the main body of the pub. There is a single main bar along the front of the building, atmospheric and comfortable, with a woodburner at one end, timber floors, oak beams and stone walls. We found the staff very welcoming and helpful, while the locals were a complete cross section of the village. They have B&B rooms and host regular events and functions. Two ales on, Doombar and Twin Coast from Sharp’s, and there were three dry pumps on the bar. Also available were Guinness, Aspall’s, Carling and a keg cider. Standard pub grub was available in the bar at reasonable prices. Well worth a detour from the M5 if you’re passing, and I’d be happy to have this as my local, though it would be nice to see a more adventurous ale range.
