Old Boots left this review about Hoist House

Located in the other end of an anonymous block to Veeno this is much more bar than food although the subscript says “pub & snaffle” on the Hoist sign. Presumably named after the historic wagon hoist nearby but not visible from the bar. A triangular shaped corner building with a mix of high and low seating, like most, probably all?, round here the ceiling is industrial, the walls mostly glass. A square servery sits in the middle with quite the forest of solos and T-bars, an eclectic collection of beers of the ordinary and more adventurous variety. At the end are two handpumps with Vocation Bread & Butter on one and from just up the road, Kirkstall Three Swords which was very average and served in a bloody dimpled jug. Food, or “snaffle”, is prepared in an open kitchen area to one side of the servery staffed by a few chaps in baseball caps.

Strongers . left this review about Hoist House

Located on the ground floor of an office block, Hoist has a square U-shaped bar counter that supports premium keg and a full range of Beavertown lagers. There are also two hand pumps that were drawing Kirkstall’s Three Swords (had better) and Jasper. To the left of the counter the kitchenette used for preparing and cooking pizzas was unused. It was quiet for a Friday evening, in fact Leeds was very quiet the whole weekend I was there. The atmosphere in here was akin to a brewery tap on a business park, but without the good beer. Not for me.

Newly opened 'independent pub', offering local ales and craft beer. There are plans to introduce Asian street food in the new year. Limited information available at present.
