Rob Hunter left this review about Lowery's Yard
Visited on Saturday night. No cask ale available, but 10 keg taps, mainly offering lagers and fizzy pale beers that are almost lagers. I did spot one bitter though. A few beers appeared to be by Northside, who I have never heard of before and Google turns up no web site or anything, so can only assume it is a brand or trading name of a much bigger brewery, and that is the impression I got from tasting the beer. I went for the Showtime, badged as an American IPA, but I wasn't that impressed.
They must have realised people can't read the tiny discs next to the taps on the back wall so they have helpfully stuck some Post-It notes above the beer taps. A beer blackboard would have given a slightly more professional look, but perhaps there wasn't room.
I did notice a couple of cider-in-a-box type things in the fridge from the "Deep In Cider Company" which is apparently made locally.
There are a couple of tables out the front in a strange precinct courtyard kind of area.
It was busy on Saturday evening and standing room only at the bar. I'm glad to have tried it but nothing really to rush back for.
