The Copper Hatch is a shop converted bar with open plan seating, a wooden fireplace with faux burner and Moroccan style lampshades. There is laminate flooring throughout and bifold doors for opening out in clement weather. The handful of midweek evening customers were treated to some background music, to be honest I thought there was more of a restaurant vibe than bar, even though nobody was eating, and I’m not sure they even do food. The counter across the rear wall supports six premium keg products alongside Beavertown’s Gamma Ray which was very reasonably priced at £2.50 for a half. I think I’ll leave this place to the locals in future.

Visited on Saturday evening. No cask ale (due to a lack of cellar, according to WhatPub) but six keg taps. Unfortunately these were mainly lagers (albeit not Carling, Stella etc) with the most interesting option being Freedom Pale Ale (£3.80 a pint), which was pale and fizzy so may as well have been a lager.
It's a nice enough place, plenty of seating and clearly a popular venue on Saturday night despite being a bit out of the town centre - but the unadventurous beer selection means I probably wouldn't be in any rush to return.
