Blackthorn _ left this review about Market Hall West End

Located just off Oxford Street, this is not a pub in the traditional sense but a bar within the Market Halls food market. You are nonetheless welcome to have a pint without eating, as each business operates independently, with the food being provided by a number of street food style outlets. I spotted two bars within the market, but the style and offering look to be the same, so I assume they are all part of one operation.

Décor wise it’s very industrial with concrete screed on the floor and exposed RSJ’s on the ceiling. It’s a good sized establishment, and you can wander around and sit anywhere, with the seating being a mixture of high wooden benches and chairs as well as some comfy looking padded seating around the permitter. The bar counter itself was clearly a more recent addition than much of the building, being clad in pine wood and cream coloured tiling. It looked quite contemporary as though it could be in a smart bar somewhere, especially with the hanging wine glasses and shelves of wine bottles above the bar counter.

Unfortunately there were no real ales on tap, although keg options included Camden’s Pale and Eazy. On a plus note, the cider was Orchard Pig Reveller which is much better than the normal dross you get around these parts, and went down a treat. This is a tricky one to mark, not being your typical pub. I actually quite liked it, but then we were eating and both the Nasi Goreng and Blueberry Cheesecake were most enjoyable. But would I pop in just for a pint? Unlikely.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Market Hall West End

Big, multi-storey food and drink emporium - recently opened, so finding the upper levels quiet on the Sunday after Christmas was hardly a surprise, but the food court and main bar were busier and louder. There is also a roof terrace that will no doubt come into its own during the better weather (although there is no view to speak of). I found three of the four advertised bars, but the drinks selection is much the same from each, with the Daymer from Harbour Brewing being one of the cheaper keg-only beer options at £5.50.
