Blue Scrumpy left this review about Bel Air Inn

The Bel Air can be found at the top of Harbour Hill where the tractor buses drop off and pick up from/to the ferry. I decided to give it a miss when I arrived, preferring instead to return later after checking into my accommodation and visiting some of the island's other bars, therefore hoping it would be quieter.

My plan worked. There was one fairly large group who had been drinking there since they arrived, but they were just about to depart. This left the pub fairly quiet and meant I could order food and drinks quite easily.

The pub has a couple of rooms. There is a bare-boarded bar and a carpeted lounge with a pool table. The bar had a wood burner in a fair sized fireplace with a TV above it first showing cricket highlights and then being switched to live darts. There is an outdoor patio and a garden with a children's playing area.

There was just one handpull that I could find. This was clipped with Wainwright Amber, possibly not even a real ale. Caffrey's Stout seemed to be quite popular. Ciders were Thatcher's Haze, Cloudy Lemon, Apple & Blackcurrant & Blood Orange & Roquettes. I opted for the latter, along with ham, egg and chips (£15 for the food). Both went down nicely. The menu is basic bar food and includes breakfasts. The pub opens at 10am daily for drinks. It is open even earlier for breakfast. There is also accommodation. Dogs and children are allowed in.

This felt the most touristy of the island's pubs but its situation at the top of Harbour Hill means it has a location for almost guaranteed trade.
