Mermaid Tavern, The Village, Sark

The Mermaid Tavern is situated up a side road. It can be spotted by its tall and old pub sign. I'd left a visit here until last. It was the pub closest to where I was staying and I had higher hopes of it, as it is a wet-led establishment.

I was left a little disappointed. The main entrance leads you into a small public bar. Off to the left is a much larger room with a pool table in the middle and a dartboard in one corner. There is also a jukebox. There was also a large projector screen which is most likely used for big sporting events. A meat draw was advertised.

One of 3 Sark pubs in the Good Beer Guide, the single handpull was clipped with Butcombe Original. Ciders were Thatcher's Gold & Juicy Apple. What however was telling was that most people were drinking cans. This seems to be a thing across Sark but was particularly noticeable here.

There is a fairly untidy outdoor drinking area and toilets are outside to the front too.
