Down a long and rambling driveway sits this hotel, with public bar. Assumed I'd be the only idiot at the crease halfway through a Saturday afternoon but actually it was fairly busy with drinkers. The bar is to the right hand side on entering the hotel building. It's a bit better than the usual comfortable hotel bar fayre with a decent stab at decor even if it's all a bit nouveau riche. Three pumps at the bar with two on; Sharps Doom Bar and Otter Bitter, the latter of which was in pretty good shape (NBSS 3.5) which was a surprise though the fact others were drinking it undoubtedly helped. Old school amusement via a wheeled in telly showing the rugby. Maybe I got lucky but it was a decent stop nonetheless.
