David Walton left this review about Shuffle Club
Visited 23/07/25. Visited previously as Joan (didn’t do a name change to that when it re-opened, formerly Beach Blanket Babylon) on 14/07/22.
No cask. Basic keg offering of Camden Pale and Camden Hells, Mahou, Bud and Midway session IPA from Goose Island.
This is a bare boarded venue with nice high ceilings, very light and airy on a close evening. The bar counter is in the middle of the floor space and divides the seating in the front and rear parts of the venue and is quite ornate with a marble top and an art deco backing housing the spirit and cocktail collection. Seating in the front part is via some tall tables with tall unbacked stools in front of the bar counter with a single step raised area in the front window having a colourful fabric banquette with leather seat pads around the window and right-hand wall with small round tables and fabric stools the other side thereof. There is a single traditional shuffleboard in this front bar area and another just behind the bar in the rear seating area. In that area seating is via similar arrangements. Lighting was very ambient and there are no TV's but a funky soundtrack. There might be an upstairs area, but I didn't go and investigate .
