Will Larter left this review about The Alley Bar
Situated just off Breck Road, opposite the railway station, this new cocktail bar occupies the extended premises of the former Aged in Oak wine bar. The bar is seen through a large, full height window with a door to the left; the extension to the right features several areas of seating that were being well used by drinkers at the time of my early evening visit on Saturday. The bar has two lager taps and what I took to be a Guinness font, but when I asked for a half of the latter, the barman said they only do pints, as it's in cans. (I assume he meant 440ml.) When I then switched to a half of lager instead, he poured me a pint; I must have looked thirstier than I felt after my cycle ride from Fleetwood. We sorted it out in the end, and I drank my half of Mahou 5.1% in pretty quick time, considering how cold and fizzy it was, before dashing back to the station for my train. This is not my sort of place, and to be fair I'm pretty sure I'm not their sort of customer either.
