Opposite Long Eaton station,a really excellent micropub on a corner plot. The sqaure interior has a huge amount of railway ephemera ,a lot relating to the station's previous name of Sawley Junction, hence the pub name. The furniture is traditional and there is a good large fitted bench seating area.Outside there is an open area on the pavement which is a real sun trap and there is a hatch to serve these drinkers. The opening hours are extended to Wednesday in the better weather from June and there was a good crowd inside on my Wednesday visit.
The real ale line up from stillage was Brass Castle Bad Kitty porter,Black Lodge Baltic Best, house Bowser Bitter brewed at Birch Cottage,TT Landlord,Shiny Live the Dream,Alter Ego Blonde Protagonist,Magpie Not Bad for Magpie and Thornbridge Crackendale (great nick ,NBSS 4.5,£4.95 a bargain.)
On keg there were indie beers Triple Point Helles and Wingsuit,Vault City Brain Freeze Slushy Sour,Azvex The Orca Brothers and Pamona Island Factotum . Both the ale selection and the indie beers show that the owner here knows his beer and is prepared to offer a large mix of styles and strength.Bar snacks are toasties ,pork pies, scotch eggs and the like.
An absolute must visit and having crawled around Long Eaton this was by bar the best pub. Next time I'm in here for a long session,it really should be in the GBG with it's offer of 8 rotating ales

A well supported micropub with a mix of age groups and the main theme for this micro is the railways, obviously being so close to the railway station. Seven ales to choose from on our visit and four craft. The ales were on stillage served from the rear cold room. My Halland Oatmeal Stout was superb, £4 a pint for a 4.9%. There's a snack menu with Pork Pies, Scotch Eggs, Cheeseboard and Cheese toasty.

Situated adjacent to Long Eaton railway station the Sawley Junction opened late last year and is a friendly family run micropub that was originally a bank and in later life a newsagents. This is a one roomed bar with ample seating and just enough railway memorabilia present without going overboard. There were 5 gravity beers on offer from the Magpie,Muirhouse,Milton,Littleover and Acorn breweries plus 8 ciders to go at.A board over the bar displayed the beers that were on and another one showing the next batch to arrive. Worth a visit.
