Blue Scrumpy left this review about Front Street Tap House

Micropub with a couple of rooms. The front one contains the bar itself and was reasonably busy on our Saturday evening visit. A second even smaller room to the rear had no available seating, meaning I didn't get to explore too far. Instead, we ended up grabbing some high stools around a drinking shelf in the front window.

There is a regular cask ale from Cullercoats. On this visit, this was Shuggy Boat Blonde. Guests were Flash House Shy Bairns Get Hazelnut Stout & Almsasty Best Bitter. 2 ciders were both from Ascension - Wrath & Shimmy. Craft beers were Turning Point Hard Pivot, The Kernel Superdelic Citra, Full Circle Smug Club, Pentrich Flesh Spice, Two By Two Strata DDH Pale & Left-Handed Giant Take Me Nowhere.

My hazelnut stout seemed to be past its best. Normally I do enjoy a stout, but this was a little disappointing. Nevertheless, the atmosphere in here was good and I'd certainly give it another try.

This fairly new Micropub was a former Florist shop. This is a one room micro with a small raised area at the back, just enough to fit a two seater settee. The flooring in the front room was red painted concrete and wallpapered feature wall on the right hand side with a brick design. Four handpumps serving two from Cullercoats Shaggy Boat Blonde and Fortified Shuggy, Errrant Brewery Hello This is Prog and Turning Point Stuck in a Metaphor. Prices in here were around £3.80 a pint and all transactions were by card only.
