Taken over by the current owners in 2018, the Sheaf has flourished as both pub and restaurant ever since.
It sits in the village centre opposite the church with the bar being at the front to the left complete with fire and a snug like seating area around another open fire. It's comfortable and cosy with a jovial atmosphere generated by the locals.
To the back and behind the double sided bar are two further rooms serving as the restaurant, the near one also with an open fire. All the fires were lit on a chilly September evening which added to the feeling of well being.
We came for supper and the food and wine were very good but what about the beer? Three handpumps displayed Purity Pure Gold, Roman Way Carpe Diem and The Shires Pale Ale. All 4% and under. The usual bank of kegs had lower strength offers from Salt and Brewdog.
I really enjoyed the place but would prefer a stronger beer option. I had the rose.

Called in while on a coach trip round some of Northamptonshire pubs and found Woodfordes Wherry and St Austell Proper Job available, both of which were fine. Grade II listed building that has been recently refurbished.
