Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Mean-Eyed Cat
Quirky micro-pub located at one end of a short parade of single-storey shop units that look somewhat out-of-place in the city centre, and the neon 'Sorry we're OPEN' sign will help you find it! Anyway, it has the expected (if very mixed selection of) simple furniture and an eclectic choice of pictures and posters on the walls. Small covered yard garden at the back. Six handpumps can be found on the counter, offering a pair of cask ales from Almasty, Till the Bitter End from Black Iris (£4.40) and others from Turning Point, Ossett and Five Points. Up to eight craft keg beers also available from a colourful array of taps on the side wall.

We managed to walk past this one as we hadn't realised it was up a side street at the end of a row of single storred shops. It has a neon sign outside that says "Sorry We're Open". To be honest it looks like a shed from the outside. Inside is rather more comfortable with an eclectic mix of tables and chairs. The walls are covered in a plethora of pictures, posters and general tat. Friendly barman was on hand to assist Ms CAMRA with her choice from the 6 handpumps, 5 of which I hadn't had before. Both our beers were in very good nick. They sell a large selection of rocket fuel in cans. A couple we got talking to said that they come into toon once a month to stock up on the cans. They spent about £90 on take outs having had a couple of beers in the pub. We both liked it in here and will most likely call in again next time we're here.

Looks like a shed but it was probably an old shop now it’s a single room micro. Counter to the back right and home to six pulls, at least seven kegs, five boxed ciders and various cans. Red and yellow walls decorated with a profusion of posters, wrestling and otherwise and Mexican Day of the Dead dollilies in line with the tequila bar theme. Lots of mixed seating mainly at tables and chairs. Rather weird gents toilet.

strange looking building but fine inside, good beer but seems a lttle localish or appeal to a certain style of modern ale lover

Micropub in what looks like a shed from the oustide. It's very close to the Haymarket metro station, but hidden away along a side street. The pub is also very close to the football stadium. The last time we were here was on an early Saturday evening when it was heaving after a match. We were expecting the same after the match on Tuesday, but the pub only has a license until 10pm and we arrived just in time to get served, with many others being turned away. As such, we had a fairly quiet drink in much less crowded circumstances than on our previous visit in December, 2019.
Almasty Cramped & Ossett White Rat are the regular beers, Guests were Arbor My Little Sabrony, King Aelle Block Head, Buxton Gatekeeper & Nomadic Dark Ravine.
Real ciders were Tricky Wizard, Perry's Barn Owl & Barbourne Painted Lady Perry, whilst they also have a good range of craft beers - El Santo Session Pale, Brew By Numbers 08 Chocolate & Orange Stout, Verdant Headband, Kasteel Rouge Lethal Belgian, Three Hills Trium, Vault City Strawberry & Lime & Deya Something Good 16.
The Mexican theme already mentioned is clear to see and the landlord is a friendly chap. It was too fleeting a visit this time. But I'm hoping to get back to what I rate as Newcastle's best pub.

top notch micro pub very close to Haymarket, I also see the similarities with a Mexican bar and the decor is certainly a change from the usual pubs. the owner is clearly a fan of the Cramps! Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful, the White Rat in good form and the place had a happy proper pub atmosphere, pandemic related chit chat to the fore. It was serving vegan pie and mash in boxes when I was in.

A very colourful and arty sort of micro, maybe on the lines of a Mexican bar. This pub had a good selection of ales across six handpumps along the bar, on our visit. Plus a selection of 6 craft keg, served from taps situated along the wall at the far end of the bar. We went for the Northern Monk New World IPA and the Almasty Cramped. The prices in here for a pint of cask was also very reasonable, ranging from £3.50 - £3.80. This micro had a good atmosphere and the owner and staff were all friendly and chatty.
