A somewhat unremarkable estate pub from the 1950s, which has a strong local following of merry men but little to offer the outsider. The single L-shaped bar is mainly full of tables for dining, though it is by no means a gastro. It feels more like a social club than a pub, with a lot of effort put into pool, darts and watching live TV sports. There is a garden at the back which was occupied solely by smokers, probably as a result of the weather. Food was basic pub grub, freshly microwaved, plus a choice of basic pizzas, all at reasonable prices. No real ale, just 4 non-functioning hand pump, and no real cider. There was a standard range of megekeg offerings, plus Neck Oil and Guinness, so all wasn’t lost. Not somewhere to seek out, and there are better drinking establishments not too far away.
