Very good micro opposite the bus stop. Comfy one room with lovely herringbone floor. Log burner and very impressive bar in the far corner. The barman was friendly and welcoming on my Saturday lunchtime visit and other customers soon followed, so it's obviously well supported in this real ale desert. 5 handpumps serving Shipstones Gold Star, Rat & Ossett Fat Rat, Alter Ego Echo Chamber & Mr Brown Best Bitter, and another one called Megaton, didn't get the brewery name. All of these are priced at a reasonable £4.20 a pint. Recommended.

One room with toilets to rear right and bar to rear left. Five hand pumps. Very quiet as we went in just after it had opened at 4pm on Saturday. Welcome addition to the Gate - would return if in the area.
