A beautiful Art Deco building. Ferociously modern interior but not unpleasant, upmarket rather than tacky - light and bright. It’s mainly a restaurant operation now but there's a drinking area in the left-hand spur. No cask, just one keg of interest, Blonde from local 3 Brewers which tasted a bit suspect to me and weighed in at £3.50 for a half. Worth a nose if you're doing the Spoons nearby – it’s not like there’s much else nearby. 5.5

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Comet
Fine-looking Art Deco hotel, with the Elements Bar and Kitchen occupying the front section with its distinctive semi-circular bays on three sides. As expected, all parts have smart modern furniture / decoration and muzak, and likewise no real ale available. However, it was a pleasant surprise to find a couple of craft keg beers from the local 3 Brewers outfit: an IPA and the Blonde (£5.85, but a good choice on a sweltering summer day).
