E TA left this review about The Grain
One corner of the Cheese and Grain events venue, which was previously built as a market house in the 19th Century. There are plenty of outside seats and tables, and enough inside seating, well spaced, for a few groups be comfortable. It was full of families when we visited, certainly not a drinker’s bar. Their main fare is teas and coffees, with pasties and sandwiches on the menu for snacks or light lunch. There is a limited fair beer range, but no real ale or cider. What was on offer was Brewdog Black Heart, 5 from Thatcher’s, Apocalypse craft ale, Prahva, Madri and Arbor Mosaic. There was light rock music playing in the background, but otherwise little by way of atmosphere. OK for a pitstop or when attending an event here, but not one I’d include in a pub crawl.
