The entrance of the New Stalybridge Labour Club leads to an open plan carpeted area with banquettes under the front windows and five small tables with faux leather bucket seats. The bar counter across the rear supports standard and premium keg. Whilst ordering I was distracted by a very drunk guy who the barmaid was trying to throw out so I didn’t note if there was any cask. A television was airing Champions League football via TNT Sports, Sky Sports was also advertised so I’m surprised the Bolton play-off match wasn’t on. Once the drunk had been ejected I was the only customer, although the Lord Tom Pendry Lounge to the right was bustling with a private meeting, which seemed to be attended by all the club members. In the rear is a games area with both pool and snooker tables. I found the members to actually be very friendly when they came out to get drinks from the bar, but it did feel a bit like I was sitting on my own in the non-members part of a members club.
