Situated on the edge of the town centre, this bar has a front and a rear room. The purple bar can be found to the rear of the front room. Doors are also painted purple and there are some fancy surround archways. The front room is also used for live music and there are some vinyl records on the walls. Background music was playing, whilst there were also some tables and chairs on the pavement to the front.
A couple of cask ales are served. For our visit, these were Durham Magus & Black Edge Tropicana. Camden Stout was on keg and cans of a rather strong craft beer were being promoted. One of our party decided to purchase one. Along with the name change, it seems real cider and 2 handpulls have disappeared since the last review.
This place has fairly limited opening hours and was a bit of a wildcard choice, but a good one at that.

A fairly decent pub/gin bar/trendy place. Its only small with 2 areas front and rear. 4 handpulls on the bar with 2 for real ale and 2 for cider. Sadly only 2 of the four were on on my visit with a real ale and cider on. I thought it might be a hideous cocktail place but it isn't. A thin and narrow place and not too bad.
