Accessed from Merrion Street, but there is a shop front and a door in the arcade which appears to be unused. The pub is in fact upstairs, in an airy space with skylights, and windows in the wall behind the bar counter which overlook the Templar on the other side of Vicar Lane. There is no real ale, with keg beers varying in price from a reasonable £3.80 to an eye-watering £9.80 per pint. My choice, Stone Exalted 7%, had been reduced from £4 to £2 for a half. It was quiet at the time of my early Sunday afternoon visit, but apparently it had been heaving the night before and the place had been "sucked dry", with fewer beers than normal available in consequence. I quite liked this place on my bref acquaintance, but the likelihood of a future revisit is diminished by the absence of real ales.
