Old Boots left this review about Below Stairs

Essentially a cocktail bar it is indeed very easy to miss as it is through a small gate, down a metal staircase and through a non descript door, signage is limited as Custodian 42 says. Suckered in by Leeds Camra’s promise of a house beer brewed by Huyghe of Delerium Tremens fame I was sorely disappointed to be confronted by only Guinness on tap; even worse they had none of the stuff on, the barman saying “well we are a cocktail bar and it’s table service, but you can sit at the bar”. The small drinks menu beer section listed six bottled beers, I chose the slightly more interesting Kirin on offer; £5 for a 330ml bottle of 5%. Counter to one side and low tables and chairs elsewhere. Tasteful decor and constant music. I did get a small complimetary glass of a vodka and something sweet plus a free glass of water.

You wouldn't know this was here but for the wall sign. As the name implies, the bar is down some steps! Once in, the bar is to the left, with various coloured keg fonts and Guinness. No prizes for guessing what I had.
